    Parish information

    Introduction

Hello, my name is Bertha del Carpio, Director of St. Aloysius Parish Social Ministry. Our program provides direct assistance to people in need in the Great Neck community. We aim to serve all people, who come seeking our assistance. We are committed to reaching out to them and to all those in need in our community. Together with the St. Vincent de Paul Society we operate an Interfaith Food Pantry in the town of Great Neck. The direct assistance we offer includes food and financial assistance (particularly help with rent, utility bills, health related expenses like doctors or medications). We also provide counseling and support to people going through the often challenging process of obtaining assistance from local, state or federal government sources. The food we are able to give to those in need comes from a variety of sources. Much of it is donated directly by people of our parish and of the Great Neck community; some comes from other agencies such as Long Island Cares and Island Harvest. Some resources are collected in drives sponsored by local schools and temples, and by generous postal workers, firefighters and boy scouts of our community.

    Prayer

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You. Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly.

Against the spread of the Coronavirus Disease

God our Father we come to you in our need to ask your protection against COVID-19 that has disturbed and even claimed lives. We pray that you guide the people tasked to find cures for this disease and to stern its transmission. Protect the medical experts that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.

We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon. Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died. Give us the grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need. We implore you to save us from the spread of the virus and to save us from our fears. Grant all these through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

We fly to your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petition in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen

Our Lady, Health of the sick, Pray for us. St. Raphael the Archangel, Pray for us. St. Aloysius, Pray for us

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
